Canada Food Day celebrated at Sooke Harbour House

In celebration of our Nation's day of food, join your community for an outdoor buffet lunch filled with local foods. You can enjoy a garden tour with Byron Cook and a farm tour where the food is grown.

Climate Action WestShore

CAWS, a West Shore Chamber of Commerce Committee, is an active grassroots alliance of businesses, organizations and individuals to educate and promote the actions we need to take as we prepare our WestShore community for climate change.

They have implemented a recycling program for those items that are not welcome in your household's blue box. Every second Saturday of the month, join other climate aware WestShore community members at Belmont Secondary School with clean recyclables such as;

random plastics (ex. plastic cracker wrappers)
styrofoam
batteries
electronics
metal

Next Recycling Opportunity: Saturday, August 14th, 2010

3rd Annual Kayak For A Cure 2010 - Victoria

Date: August 22nd, 2010

This event raised $10,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society in 2009.

Registration is at 8:30am

Kayaking begins at 9:30am at Verdier Park and commences around 3:30pm at the same location
