Carl Ratsoy
Carl Ratsoy lives in View Royal with his wife Beatrice and daughter Sarah. After graduating from the University of Victoria, his chosen profession of teaching led him to work extensively with the BC Ministry of Education and the Greater Victoria Teachers’ Association. He was appointed by the Minister of Education to serve as Vice-Chair of the BC College of Teachers. Carl has been involved with the Town of View Royal as a member of the Planning and Development Advisory sub-committee of Council. He brings a comprehensive understanding of the education system, labour relations, provincial legislation, finance and administrative law to the table as a representative of Esquimalt-Royal Roads residents. While he was the Vice-Chair of the BC College of Teachers Carl met regularly with the heads of educational organizations and ministry officials and saw BC Liberal policies first hand and that was a turning point in his life. The recent economic downturn and the BC Liberal record on fiscal and economic policy have re-affirmed his decision to run as part of this team.
