For the past 16 years community support has allowed me to serve on Langford Council. I have served on and chaired various council committees, been a Langford representative to the West Shore Parks & Recreation Society and have been appointed to the Capital Regional District Board. I have served as Langford’s Deputy Mayor for 14 years.
We can all take pride in the transformation that has been brought about by working together. Langford is now one of the most desirable places to start a business, to live, play and raise a family.
I am proud of the accomplishments of Council and the many volunteers who work cooperatively and tirelessly to positively improve our community.
Langford has had one of the lowest tax rates of any municipality in BC while providing much new infrastructure. This past year there was a 1% decrease in our municipal tax rates.
We have welcomed new businesses, which have created a strong, vital economy and provided thousands of new jobs in Langford. I think it is vitally important in these tough economic times to continue to support a team on council that will work together to continue to improve the economy, create new jobs and improve our infrastructure.
