Seaton, Lanny

It gives me great pleasure when I hear our residents describe the beautification and revitalization projects that have transformed Langford with such pride.

My Grandchildren are the fourth generation of my family to live in Langford and like many others; my wife Dianna and I chose to raise our family here because of the quality of life, affordability, recreation, and the amenities that we enjoy. I have a stake in the future. With your support, I will continue to provide a strong, stable, steady voice, and common sense approach on Council.

I have over 40 year’s volunteer service in Langford as a member of many organizations including:

• Ten years service Langford Fire Rescue
• Past President Glen Lake Ratepayers Association
• Langford Incorporation Committee
• Coach and avid supporter for numerous Westshore Community Sports and Youth organizations

I retired from the Canadian Coast Guard after 41 years. As Superintendent of Construction and Maintenance I received the Deputy Ministers Award for creating a green recycling program for Light Stations.

This past term, my focus was an all weather field in City Centre Park, affordable housing for families, and housing for seniors. I served on the following Committees:
• Chair Affordable Housing
• Vice- Chair Parks and Recreation
• Director Westshore Parks and Recreation
• Member Westshore Field Users
• Vice Chair Protective Services
• CRD Alternate
• CRD Affordable Housing Committee

During the next three years with your support my focus will be:
• Commuter Rail
• Expansion of rail freight to get trucks and cars off the Malahat
• Realignment and installation of a light at Sooke and Happy Valley Road
• Improvements to roads and infrastructure
• Future recreation facilities and green space
• Promote Green Initiatives

The difficult economic times ahead will require a strong steady hand. With your support I will use the experience, knowledge, and ability that have I gained during my 12 years on Langford Council, to promote the initiatives that I believe are a necessity to keep Langford’s future economy vibrant, strong, and affordable.
