Williams, Ken

It has been an honour to represent Highlanders as councillor over the past three years. I am very proud of our community and have worked hard to keep taxes low and build our reserves all while protecting our rural values. In addition to council duties, I have served on various committees including family court/youth justice, energy planning, treaty negotiations and have filled in as alternate for many others. I believe in doing things that bring people together. I have spearheaded the creation of our Highlands flag and celebrate our wonderful community volunteers such as our fire fighters, and community association, to name a few.
The main issues for me:
1) Taxes: Careful planning and fiscal responsibility will keep our taxes low while continuing to save for a rainy day.
2) Development Density: Craft balanced solutions and policies that put residents concerns first.
3) Ethics: Good community partnerships grow from an open and fair democratic process
A self-employed businessman, I have been married for 35 years. My wife, Janet, son Trevor and I have built our Highlands home and farm since moving here in 1988. We love Highlands and wish to see her beauty preserved for future generations. I have the time, the energy and the passion to be your councillor for another term.
