I will continue to use the knowledge and experience I have gained from the past twelve years being a trustee to advocate for the proper resources and tools for children to learn. Class size, class composition and increased services for special needs students and aboriginal students are issues that must be addressed. We must also continue to provide programs of choice to students, eg Hockey School and Trade School. A top priority is to continue lobbying the government with the support of our community to replace our aging facilities such as Belmont School.

I respect and value the contribution that parents, employees and students make to furthering education. The board must also be proactive in the retention of our staff and the recruitment of new staff. I will continue to be approachable, consultative, caring and sensitive to all stake holders when dealing with educational concerns. I look forward to continuing my visits to schools and participating in school activities.

I believe children are our most important and precious resource. I believe I make a positive difference in the way the school systems equips them to start their adult lives. I will work with the community to focus on student achievement and together we can make a difference.
