John Horgan

John Horgan was born and raised in Victoria and has lived in Langford since 1992. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree at Trent University in Ontario and then completed his Master of Arts degree at Sydney University in Australia. John and his wife Ellie have two sons who attend the University of Victoria. John began his public service career working in the House of Commons then returned to BC in the 1990’s to work for the Harcourt government. In 2001, he started a management and research consulting company. In 2005 John was elected MLA for Malahat-Juan de Fuca and served as Opposition Critic for Education, then Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources, as a member of the Legislature’s Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government and as Deputy Chair of the Crown Corporations Committee.
